Description
A large wall-hanging framed Royal Warrant of Appointment proclamation reverse painted on glass and dating from the early 20th century. Royal warrants were granted by the King and Queen to select trusted purveyors to the Royal Household. This names King George V and Queen Alexandra in elaborate hand-painted gilt lettering on a white background against a red matting. It was probably used as advertising in a high-end shop premises. Framed in a black wood frame, with original wooden backboards. Handsome, substantial and historical.
