A suberb George II/III carved mahogany open armchair having a carved crest rail over an open carved back splat, upholstered seat with cabriole legs terminating in an unusual ball foot. The fluting on the legs is similar to fluting found on chairs supplied by Paul Saunders to Holkham House in Norfolk and Castle Howard in North Yorkshire.
