Description
A fine quality Georgian mahogany plate bucket of coopered construction having two brass bands and a heavy brass swing handle with finely crafted hinges. Plate buckets were used by footmen for carrying dinner dishes, and have a slot down the side to allow stacking and removal. Now a handsome addition to a fireplace setting for holding kindling. Good patina. English, circa 1800.
