Description
A striking set of four baroque firetools comprising a shovel, tongs, hook and fork, having blacksmith-made twisted forged iron shafts with elaborate scrolled iron elements and surmounted by cast brass button form finials. Varying lengths. Longest 41″ tall. Tongs shorter with stylized flowers on hinge. Hook dramatically curved, fork with twisted tines and shovel with shapely bell form. American, circa 1870.
