Remarkable collection of Norwegian Folk Art spoons, comprising a pair of carved and engraved birchwood spoons with chain on original rack, signed and dated “K. Olafson, 1825” with a man’s head over scrollwork rack, a similar, but more elaborately etched pair of well patinated loving spoons, a fork and spoon pair with Nordic carved decoration and an enormous single spoon profusely decorated with foliate details. Provenance: Deaccessioned from the recently closed “Little Norway” museum in Wisconsin, a collection of Norwegian and Norwegian-American buildings, decorative arts and costume started in the early 20th century by Isak Dahle, and run by consecutive generations of his family until closing recently.
