Very fine George II pie crust tripod table, the single board top with scalloped and dished surface, over turned and fluted shaft with acanthus carved stem, the legs with foliage carving over well formed ball and claw feet, exceptionally carved, the top and base associated, ex. collection Irwin Untermeyr. Judge Irwin Untermeyr put together arguably one of the finest collections of English furniture and decorative arts in the United States. His pieces formed the nucleus of the Metropolitan Museum's English furniture collection.
